Women's Missionary Society

The WMS meet the second Tuesday evening of each month at 7:00pm.  They share the word together and share about our Home and Foreign Missionaries. This is a time of fellowship for our ladies. They also keep our church informed about the Missionaries and their special projects. They have exciting fundraisers (Lovelines, Birthday/Basket Auction, Homemade Christmas Silent Auction,) and much more throughout the year.

Annual WMS Craft Auction & Bazaar - December 12, 2006

submitted by Renie Bullock

I am so Happy that I belong to a loving, giving, compassionate Church. Our Angel Tree for

those in need this year received $460.00 to purchase gifts and other items.

Also the Annual WMS Craft Auction & Bazaar was held Tuesday evening, December 12, 2006.

A good crowd attended and enjoyed an evening of fellowship and delicious hors d'oeuvre.

There was an abundance of crafts to bid on and $521.00 was raised for missions.

The Men's Brotherhood are also preparing 17 baskets for families in need to be distributed Saturday Dec. 16, with enough food to last a family for a couple weeks. Nearly $1000.00 was raised for this.

As I say, Thank God for people that are willing to give over and above their tithes for worthy projects. Thank you each and everyone who contributed in anyway.

WMS Mother's Day Fundraiser May 2006

We wish to take this opportunity to Thank each one of you that contributed to our Special Mission Mother's Day project.

For each Mother honored or in memory of those deceased, a carnation was placed on the altar Mother's Day. The Women's Missionary Society would like to let you know through your generosity, we received $324.00 to add to our Mission Fund. Members contributed $3.00 for the carnations, and were able to take them home following the morning worship.

We Thank God for a church that is mission minded. Our Society met at the home of Rita Jones this past week, and prayed for our missionaries and enjoyed a time of fellowship. A Special Thanks to Doug Patberg, owner of The Old Salt Box Florist, who donated the carnations.

The Women's Missionary Society (WMS) at Mt. Olive sponsor several events throughout the year to raise money for mission projects.

The annual WMS craft auction and bazaar was held Tuesday evening with a large crowd attending.   A variety of hors d'oeuvres were served as guests viewed the array of crafts to bid on.

There was a festive holiday atmosphere as men, women, boys & girls enjoyed the evening with good food, laughter, fellowship and bidding.

This is one of the events the ladies of WMS sponsor and supply a variety of hand made crafts

to raise funds for their contribution to national and home missions.

There was over $600.00 raised.  The WMS ladies wish to Thank all that contributed crafts & items for the auction, and especially all of you that attended and bid so generously for such a worthy cause.
